From April 6, 2021, all travelers – regardless of origin – are welcome to visit Iceland if they can show either:
- certificate of full vaccinationagainst COVID
- certificate of previous COVID infection
Other eligible passengers require a negative PCR test before boarding an aircraft to Iceland, taken within 72 hours of departure.
- Vaccinated Americans still need a negative COVID-19 to return home.Remember, you’ll need a negative COVID-19 testtaken within 72 hours prior of your flight back to the U.S. Without this, you may not be able to board your flight home. You can find a COVID-19 testing site on the Iceland Directorate of Health’s website. Make sure to plan your COVID-19 test in advance, so you don’t have issues returning home.
All travelers to Iceland must fill out a pre-registration form before their arrival in the country
In a nutshell the procedure is as follows:
- Vaccine card or certificate of previous Covid infection is required to enter Iceland
- Need to wear masks all the time in Iceland
- Need to take a -ve Covid-19 test prior to return to USA
